Title: Love For All Time Part 11 Author: Jade Hunter AN: This chapter will probably be all memories, so not much action, but you do get to find out what happened after the getting of the powers. Disclaimer: It's on Parts 1, 4, and 8. "talking" **thoughts** <> _emphasis_ ////memories//// ############################################################################# The light diminished, but the memory of the Last Battle did not. All but Setsuna, Hotaru, and Ryuujin weren't frozen, for they had known this beforehand. Usagi was one of the most horrified, at her death and her Prince's death and at her friend's death. More specifically, _how_ they had all died. She herself had never been in one of thos mini-Phantoms before in the present lifetime, but to find out that those were the reason that she had died before was too much. And she had not known - none of them had - that Beryl and Metallia had _not_ been totally responsible for the destruction of the Moon Kingdom. All of them - Luna and Artemis included - did not even have the time to process this new information before a fresh wave of memories hit, these about where the Senshi got their powers. They snapped their head's up in awe and rememberance, and even Haruka looked apologetic for the way they had treated the man who had once been their teacher. Luna gasped, "I remember you," she said to the Elemental Knight. "I remember........everything, Sensei." "So do I," Artemis whimpered slightly. "I can't believe we'd forget someone who was our owner for years. The same person who introduced us to the Queen!" "What?" all the Senshi yelled. "We don't remember that!" "Well, you see, all the Mau - our kind - have really long life spans," Luna began. "It all started when we were just kittens," Artemis remembered. ////flashback//// Two small kittens, one white and one black, ran through the dense jungles of their planet, the planet Mau. They were barely four months old, but were very bright for their ages. They were playing carefreely, when suddenly, a large man stepped out of nowhere into the jungle. The two immediatly hid, scurrying behind trees and large leaves. But the man had spotted them, and was heading towards them. Panicking, the two cats turned to each other, nodded slightly, and then, in a flash of light, had turned into two children. The white kitten, being slightly older, had turned into a young boy with cropped white hair and green eyes about 7 years old. The black kitten trasformed into a 6-year-old girl with shoulder-length black tresses and blue eyes. They grasped each others hands and ran away considerably faster than in cat form. "Well," the man - Ryuujin - laughed. "That was interesting." In a moment, he had teleported himself in front of the two terrified kids. They backed away from him, but stopped when he spoke. "How would you like to come with me?" Ryuujin asked kindly. "Come with you where?" questioned the white haired boy. "To the Moon Kingdom," he answered lightly. "The Moon Kingdom?" repeated the girl delightedly in a strong English accent. "Can we really?" "Well, not until you're grown up. I have chosed you two to be the Royal Advisers," Ryuujin replied. "What will we do until we grow up?" the girl asked again. "You will train with me," he smiled. "Train? In what?" the boy asked, frowning as the girl let go of his hand and stepped to the man. "In Royal Protocal, your duties, and of course, hand-to-hand combat," Ryuujin checked off. "Fighting?" Now the boy had taken a few stepps forward, eye wide with excitement. "Naturally," Ryuujin nodded. "You _must_ know how to protect yourselves when the time comes. And when it does, your shapeshifting abilities will be very useful. So will you come with me?" The two looked at each other for a moment and then nodded, taking a hold of his hands. "By the way," he said before teleporting them. "Do you have names?" "No," answered the boy shortly. "Yes," said the girl. "But you wouldn't be able to pronounce it correctly." "Fair enough," Ryuujin shrugged. "Can I give you names?" "Second names?" asked the boy, scrunching his face in confusion. "People have to call you something," Ryuujin said offhandedly. "All right," decided the girl, nodding. "What will be my new name?" Ryuujin looked at her for a moment before deciding, "Luna." "Luna," repeated the girl, a smile forming on her face. "Luna." "And mine?" the boy asked eagerly. "You will be Artemis," Ryuujin said sowly. The boy tried out his name, as if drinking wine for the first time, "Artemis." ////end flashback//// "Wow," Usagi sighed. She, Rei, Minako, Makoto, Ami, Mamoru, Haruka, Michieru, Hotaru, and even Setsuna were staring at the two cats who were now being petted by Ryuujin. They were purring for all they were worth, and tears were threatening to fall from Luna's eyes. "Even _I_ didn't know that," Setsuna remarked, staring at her beloved, who looked happy to the untrained eye, but she knew him better than anyone, and she could _swear_ that he was extremely uncomfortable. Ryuujin shrugged and said, "It's not very well known. In fact, not even Queen Serenity knew. She just thought I brought talking cats who happened to be very smart to be her advisers." "But how did you get the cresent moon marks on you forheads?" Minako asked. Both cats made faces and Luna replied, "The Queen wanted to ensure that we remained loyal to the throne. She branded the cresent moon into us by magic, and placed a spell on it so that we would only be loyal to the throne." Artemis rubbed his cresent moon and sighed, "It hurt a _lot_." "Oy," Makoto sighed in sympathy. "So, are we complete yet?" Haruka asked. "I believe not," Ami frowned. "Why's that Ames?" Usagi asked. "Because we don't remember Prince Endymon," Ami answered. "But - " Usagi began. "Ami is correct. You only remember Prince Endymon from the last battle, not when or how he first arrived at the Moon Kingdom, and that's important," Ryuujin shrugged. **For many reasons,** Setsuna added silently, exchanging a knowing glance with Ryuujin and Hotaru. "Oh, wait! Here it comes!" Usagi smiled happily. "I'm not getting anything," Rei frowned. The rest of the Senshi agreed. "Because you weren't there," Usagi realized. "It's you trip alone, Princess," Setsuna smiled. "Yours and the Prince." ////flashback//// Queen Serenity smiled at her daughter as they awaited the arrival of the Earth Ambassadors, Prince Endymon of Earth and his four Generals. Princess Serenity sighed, she was bored, bored BORED!! She wished that her mother had allowed her to go and watch the Senshi as they practiced in the Training Grounds, it _had_ to be better than this! As the heralds announced the arrival, she pasted a fake-but-serene smile on her face. As soon as she saw the Prince, her smile became real in a matter of seconds. He was very handsome, this Earth Prince, with his jet-black hair and strong bearing. Prince Endymon's deep blue eyes caught her own sky-blue ones, and held them as he introduced himself and his four Generals. She glanced away from him to study his Generals. The first in command, Kunzite, had long silver hair, stern features, and hard lavender eyes. She smiled inwardly, he would be a perfect match for the leader of _her_ guard, Princess Mina, also known as Sailor Venus. The second in command, General Jadeite, with his boyishly handsome looks, wavy blond hair, and sparkling blue eyes would surely be able to capture the heart of her own second, Raye, the Princess of Mars and Sailor Mars. Princess Lita of Jupiter would _love_ the third in command, General Nephrite, and hopefully, the feeling would be returned to Sailor Jupiter. She hoped freverently that the last General, Zoisite, could get Princess Amy, Sailor Mercury, to pay attention to something _other_ than books, or chess. "I'm sure my daughter would love to show you around," Queen Serenity was saying, mentally admonishing her daughter for not paying attention. Princess Serenity smiled gently and replied, "Of course, mother." She turned to the Eathlings and said, "If you'll follow me." She showed them everything. She took note of what they liked, and gleefully noted how they really _were_ perfect for her Senshi. Prince Endymon seemed to be especially interested in the Royal Gardens, which delighted her to no end, since she loved them as well. She saw how General Jadeite seemed to linger when she showed them Raye's Meditation Room. She noticed that General Nephrite looked back when they headed away from the Observatory, where Lita liked to frequently visit. She was practically dancing inside when she saw how reluctantly General Zoisite was to leave the Library, Amy's private domain. General Kunzite seemed to be indifferent to all, but if he was truely like Mina, he would be interested in this last place. "This is our last stop," Princess Serenity said, pointing to large oaken doors. "This is our Training Grounds." Immediatly, she saw General Kunzite perk up, and knew it was a perfect match. She put one hand on the door and turned to face her visitors. "I warn you now, that my own protectors are in there, practicing," she smiled. "Your porotectors?" Endymon repeated. "I thought the palace guards were enough." "Oh, no," Serenity shook her head. "I have four guardians, not very unlike yours, who are more well trainined than any of the guards." "Would it be alright if we watch them train?" Kunzite spoke for the first time. She blinked and then grinned, "I'm sure they wouldn't mind." She opened the door widely, and gestured for her guests to go in first. She grinned as their jaws dropped to the ground as they observed the four figures clad in breeches and blouses. ////end flashback//// "So is that it?" Makoto asked. "No," Ryuujin sighed. "_You_ must get your memory back too!" "Oh," Ami said softly. "Yeah," Minako pouted. "Oh." "I think it's coming," Rei frowned. ////flashback//// Princess Raye observed her opponent intently. Her wooden practice sword was held in her right hand, her other arm coming up to wipe the sweat away from her forhead. Her opponent took that time to lunge with their own practice sword, and she hastily blocked, determined to win. Their swords clashed with a vengance as both gave it their all. They didn't even hear the door opening and six people coming in. Princess Mina glowered as best as she could at Raye. This had been going on long enough! She wanted to win! Why didn't her oponent, worthy as she was, face facts and admit she was better? She lunged again, and this time didn't pull back after a few swipes. They parried blows for a while, until both lost their swords. They looked at each other for a split second, and then dived to retrieve the weapons. They both rolled up at the exact same moment, and set the sword against each others necks. Raye glared as her weapon touched Mina's neck, and then looked down at her own neck with a quick glance. Mina scowled at Raye as she set her sword against her neck, and glanced down at her own neck. Both came to the same conclusion. "Tie," they sighed as they helped each other up. "Again." It was then they noticed the clapping and turned to the door. ***** Princess Amy nervously studied her opponent, Princess Lita. She was smaller, more compact and more faster than the other, but the other had the advantage of being stronger, more skilled. She never knew why she agreed to spar with Lita, she was always more aggressive than Raye or even Mina. Lita lunged at her, and she, wincing, danced away, ready to dive to safety at a moment's notice. Lita growled as her limber opponent dodged once more. This was mainly the reason the fight had been going on for so long. Amy would _not_ counterattack or even attack! Frusterated, the Princess of Jupiter lunged once more, this time correcting her path so that she aimed a little lower. Amy gasped and dived, tucking and rolling before she was trampled. She got back up her knees, just in time for her to defend her upper torso from the furious attacks. Her arms were flying everywhere, even as she struggled to stand. She might not be good at offence, but she was a champion at defense. She eventually managed to regain her footing without loss of balance. It did not help much, for she found herself being pushed back. Lita grinned as she finally managed to hit Amy. Well, Amy's arms as they blocked her blows. But it was better than the game of bullfighter and bull they had been playing. She fell into a nice and steady rythem, pushing more and more force into her blows as possible. Amy winced as her arms became numb under the strength Lita was striking in. She gasped as the intelligent side of her brain lit up and managed to deliver a message, even through the pain she felt. **Wake up,** it said. **She's been in a pattern!** Amy gritted her teeth and lashed out at the small but still obvious opening that had been exposed. Her fist hit Lita's ribs with considerable force for herself, and Lita grunted in surprise. Amy followed up with a kick to the shin, another to the other knee, and then a kick to the ribs. Lita scowled as her legs became numb and her ribs became bruised. She was about to attack when she realized that her legs weren't taking her anywhere. Amy saw that Lita was having trouble, and decided to press her advantage with a few punches, but was shocked to see that her arms felt as it they were on fire. She sighed as she realized that she couldn't possible win with the condition they were in. Each met they other's eyes, and realized the other's injuries. Both laughed and collapsed next to each other. They said in a chorus, "Tie battle." The clapping was then heard as the sound filled the air. ////end flashback//// ############################################################################# To Be Continued in Part 12 ~~~~~Jade Hunter~~~~~
